Chapter 2. Editing Your Website

The Edit Site control allows you to select whether or not your site will be public or private (General Info), what it should look like (which Template to use) and what the site is all about in addition to declaring who is the Author of the site and any copyright information etc. The Edit Site area also allows you to change the way your site looks at ANY time without losing ANY information that was there before. Simply make your changes and click the Save Settings link up at the top near the General info section (there is a picture of a little floppy disk next to it). The All Pages section is where you can input the Header Title, Header Subtitle and the Header Info (top side text/or picture). These are basic editors on this page so if you want more advanced editing for the front page you will need to exit the Admin section and click the Home link from the Top Navigation area. You can also add text and pictures to the Homepage and Side text area here. To add pictures using this page you need to browse for the picture then click upload then click the Save Settings link up top before you leave the Edit Site section.

If you want to Add Widgets or Move any of the sections that are shown on the Homepage then you will need to exit the Admin section by clicking any of the other admin controls on the side, then clicking the Home link at the top navigation menu. This will take you to the customize homepage screen (minus the customizations controls, this is what your website really looks like to visitors).

There are 3 main Customize controls on the PAGE ADMINISTRATION tool and they are CUSTOMIZE THIS PAGE, ADD MORE CONTENT and the all-important RESET CUSTOMIZATIONS (Resets the Homepage modules to default locations, does NOT delete your data)

Click the PAGE ADMINISTRATION control to manipulate everything on the front page, ADD MORE CONTENT (Widgets) and move the individual sections as well as edit the settings for each one. This item can be moved by clicking, holding and dragging it to where you want it, with your mouse.

Click, hold and drag the modules to where you want them. You will notice the outlines turn Blue when you reach a spot you can drop it onto.

Clicking the EDIT, which is next to CLOSE (gets rid of that module), lets you adjust the settings for each module, they all have different settings depending on what the module is for.

Clicking the HOME PAGE TEXT module edit will let you edit your front page. You can also use your favorite HTML/CSS or WYSIWYG editor then drop the CODE for your content right onto the HOME PAGE TEXT editor (you will have to upload the images used to your site for them to work or host them somewhere else online). To do this, simply click the HTML button on the editor.

NOTE: The editor used on the full width or CUSTOM page is the same as for the HOME PAGE TEXT .

NOTE: Some but NOT ALL formatting can be retained for your text from an MS Word document.

Add Flash videos and content

NOTE: Flash content like games, and videos can be added three different ways: from FILE,

URL,

or SOURCE CODE.

Edit the Home Page Text module the old school way (HTML), let's see your skills!

Click the PAYPAL button to create a basic sales area (you can use these buttons anywhere you see the option) - Make some money! Sell something. You have many options on how your PayPal items are shown, we suggest right clicking on the editor and making a neat little table to show your stuff and make it easy to describe what you are selling. Buyers love pictures and descriptions so add them. Be sure that the email address is the right one for your PayPal account.

NOTE: You may add PayPal button or cart code using this function.

Clicking the ADD MORE CONTENT control will let you add Widgets to your Homepage, like Calendars, RSS readers, Online Photo Grabbers and much more.

You can select which Widgets you want on your Homepage. You may also click the CATALOG OF ADDITIONAL WIDGETS and the CATALOG OF WIDGETS YOU CLOSED (click this if you closed a module or Widget and want it back without hitting the RESET Customizations)

Clicking RESET CUSTOMIZATIONS will reset the whole page back to defaults.
