    Caring for the new born baby

    Take Gentle Care of Your New Born Baby

    During your hospital stay for few days after giving birth to your baby, nurses and midwives help you take care of your baby. They give you important tips to take care of your baby do and don’t for new born baby and many more. It really helps you take care of baby when you came back to home with your new born baby. If you are living with your in-laws, then you find their support and guidance to care your baby. You need to keep nurse or midwife for minimum 10 days or for one month. She can help you in massaging, bathing, changing diapers of your baby. You will find yourself busy for whole the day to look after your baby.

    Keep everything handy

    If you manage properly and find some good tips from your elder relatives, mother or in-laws, you find some relief to care your baby.

    -    You need everything ready for your baby like her clothes, diaper, bottle [if baby need], wipes, cotton wool, baby lotion, ointment for rashes, cotton mats, soft blanket for baby, napkins and medicines. Arrange everything properly at one place or in cupboard so you can find it easily when it requires.

    -    If your baby need bottle feeding, you need good stock of bottle and nipple. You also require bottle brush to clean bottle and sterilizing equipment to boil bottle after use. Remember you need to clean and boil bottle everyday.

    -    You also need formula feed in case if requires. You should keep it even if you are not using it because in some case if you cannot feed your baby, you can give formula feed to baby.
     
    Take Some Extra Care of your Precious One

    -    You need to be more attentive to change your baby’s diaper or nappy. You need to keep stock of ten to fifteen nappies per day. Therefore, stock of nappies or diaper is essential.

    -    While you change nappy or diaper, wash your hand, clean your baby, change mat, apply diaper ointment and change nappy.

    -    You can select dressing of your baby as per seasons. Select soft and light color baby clothes for summer. Use soft and warm clothes for winter. Check that warm clothes do not affect your baby’s skin. Sometimes woolen clothes affect baby’s skin and causes rashes or skin allergy. Your baby’s vest or sleep suit need to change easily. Don’t select tight or heavy weight clothes for infants.

    -    While breastfed, you need to lie down in position that your baby can feel comfort. You can cross leg and lie down your baby on your leg, support her head with your hand for easy feeding. You should remember that breast feeding is the best for infant. It is beneficial to your baby and yourself if you can feed her/him at least for twelve months. It strengthens your baby’s immune power.

    -    While taking your baby for bathing, you need to check the water is suitable for your baby. The water should be warm, not very hot or very cold. Take care that water will not enter in baby’s ear. Use good brand baby soap and baby shampoo. Good quality baby soap and shampoo protect baby’s eye from irritation.

    -    When you find that your baby is not feeling well, check what’s wrong with her. If she cries constantly, check her stomach that she doesn’t have any gas problem or constipation. Give her medicine if she has cold or fever. Remember don’t make any guess for baby’s illness. If you find that your baby is not in good health, contact doctor immediately.

    For new born baby, you need to take care of everything for her/his daily needs. Your extra care will help your baby in keeping her/him in good health.
