She feels as though she is never going to fit in despite the teachers telling her that one day she'll have a beautiful place to live with a stable jobs and identity to go with it.
Being the youngest in her family by a good ten years sometimes makes it difficult for her connect with her siblings and keep up with the pace of their home. She often feels left out and forgotten as her older half brother and sister rush into life as adults without giving a second thought about her.
She adores her older sister Aleesia of whom dotes on her whenever possible and often gives her the materialistic things that Mary-belle has always wanted. Though it is not these kinds of gifts she wants, she would much rather spend quality time with her but Aleesia never has time for that.
Mary-belle brings a unique prospective through a childs eyes on what the society may be to her and what come of that in the future for her. She gives readers an insight into another stage of life and how things are processed from a young age. She is a lovable character that will had all the readers wrapped around her pinky finger.

Rucie is the head maid in the governors household and personal assistant to the Governors wife. She is also the very dear friend and mentor of Aleesia. Her role though not major, is significant in showing the differences in scale of classes and how people are generally happy with where they are. Although she never attempts to stop Aleesia from her insane plans to become part of the leading fellowship, she does express her concern and confusion towards what she is planning to do.
All Rucie wants most is for the people she cares about to be happy and devotes herself to a life of service to her friends and to her lord and lady of the house. Rucie has no drastic character changes throughout the story, though we do see her slowly become more comfortable with who she is without having to constantly change to be something better.

He is a loyal partner in crime to Aleesia and goes on to lead a resistance against Edan much later in the plot line. Retch is a hard core believe in free will and believes that happiness is something we make for ourselves and earn rather than have a superficial system of temporary fixes of happiness.
He is the oldrest child of a family of five children and is already out working as a welder and blacksmith to provide enough grade points for his family to live off. He is passionate about a family home full of love and cherishes his relationship with each of his family members including all of his younger siblings and his parents. Although he also acts somewhat as like an annoying big brother to Aleesia, he wishes that after the dedication service they could remain together though they have been signed to separate sectors.
Retch is ruggishly handsome and runs underground meetings in which he praises the 'greater force' bryond their world and keeps a very very old bible in a locked blass cabinet hidden under a statue.
This character symbolises the people thaht will rebel against the idea of spoonfed stability and wish to earn their place and work towards any dreams they wish to have. They are also the tiny voice in a large crowd that drains him out. His Retch and his beliefs necessary? Or just a waste of time and space on his part?

Lokyle-Reece Rashkov

Name: Lokyle-Reece Rashkov    Age: Twenty One
Height: 6'2                                Eyes: blue
Hair: dark brown                       Skin: tan
Dominant Personality Trait: laid back and level headed, gets along with everyone
Major Flaw: lets his arrogance get in the way of doing something properly.

Lokyle or "Lokki" as his friends refer to him is a kind young man with a gentle heart though he really pays little attention to the politics or the worls around him. He is a classic example of a typical citizen who has learned to trust the system and similar to a sheep, follows the crowd. He is charming, witty and also the son of the Governorof whom is Aleesia's boss. Lokki finds Aleesia both beautiful and charming as well as infuriating and impossible to uinderstand as she seeks something outside their little safe bubble. He beleives whole heartedly in their perfect society and will one day himself become one of the head leaders of the new countries.
Lokyle has no other siblings and was raised by his father, his mother having barely anything to do in his life as she preocupoies herself with charity work for those not 'rescued' and in the security of the civilization in Edan.
Lokyle often changes his style of clothing and his looks though tends to leave his personality traits alone, in general he's pretty happy with the person he is.
He likes to live up the good life and is always socialising with other people from high connections, his reputation of arrogant and self absorbed maintained by his consistent personal pampering. He is admired by many and also happens to fall under the trap of Aleesia's plan as she plots to use him as a route into her role in leadership by using him as a puppet. His curiosity wins and and he allows her to do this, though not without several winges about why it be necessary at all to change the way things are when perfection has already been achieved.
Throughout the novel Lokyle's personality willl grow and develop naturally as he becomes more serious and mature about the way he handles his life and the job soon to be issued to him. Is the way he is living really as perfect as he is sure it is?
