The good part about this platform is that there is no concept of friends, so its not about posting useless information on your profile for total strangers to read like most places. Site owners have a lot more privacy controls and only registered people can see anything if the site is not public. This alone is a HUGE improvement over other social networking software. I have used a few other platforms before trying this one and I like it. Not hard to learn at all. I have been a user for about 5 years.

I think SWE is a great product, it is generic so not specialized for any one task but useful for many instead. Sort of like a Swiss Army Knife for the internet. I really does a lot, making Social Networks is just one capability.

Nancy, I agree with you on the whole friend concept. The Social Networks that are built on that system are too generic in nature and used mostly by kids who have no buying power. It is much more logical to have sites that in turn have members. This way the site owners can communicate and know that the message is going to reach someone else who thinks it is important perhaps and will not ignore it as spam from random people.

How many people can be on a SWE network? The manual says its limited by the license but I know you can have an unlimited license for the Ultra version or if you are a partner entity doing the rev share. I am just curious what is the max? FB has 600 mil plus about another 600 mil duplicates/fake etc so if SWE has a storage limit then what is it, can you have millions of users like facespace? Someone told me that you need an more expensive D version Azure account if you want more than 100k sites/users. I have run the basic A1 machine on Azure and have over 10,000 users for just 55 dollars per month. Does anyone know?

MarcL, your license is the only limitation other than the storage space on your server and with Cloud based services like Azure, you can simply scale your machine up or down depending on your needs. You can have very large networks indeed.

Tim, it looks like most people do a two week or a one month trial. this is standard on most sites but I have heard of some people doing 45 days too.
