My experience is...The Wisper drive by Lift Master (belt drive) will last a bit longer then the average chain drive and is a little more quiet. As far as maintenance is concerned they are very comparable.

Are chain openers still preferable ? I wanted to buy the belt one, since I've been told it is much more quiet but I worry about maintenance and longevity of them.
